Let the Madness begin
Published by Jeremy on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 7:22 PMIf you haven't gotten the email, go ahead and use this link to access a bracket template. Fill out all your picks and attach it back to me in an email, as listed in the rules:
Bracket, rules, etc.
As best I can tell (and correct me if I leave one out) we have 9 "alma mater teams" represented in the Tournament, these are schools in the Tourny that were attended by contestants in BBB. The list is as follows:
(1) Boston College
(2) Arizona
(3) Central Conn.
(4) Virginia Tech
(5) UCLA (by way of a brother)
(6) Michigan State
(7) Penn
(8) Virginia
(9) George Washington
(10) Syracuse (wait a minute, they didn't make the tournament.....outrageous)
As far as teams that should have made it instead of the likes of Duke et al who try to ride their so-called reputation into the Tournament, the list is as follows:
-Syracuse (see above)
-George Mason (though last year's run still feels pretty sweet)
-College of New Rochelle
-Arizona State (NIT-bound for life)
-UCSD
-Eastern Illinois (however Matt Painter, Purdue's head coach went here - thanks M.R. for that tidbit)
-Boston University
-Baruch College
-Univ. of Toronto (though I'm not sure how kindly the NCAA takes to foreign teams)
-American University
-San Jose State (Spartan Spirit!)
Get those picks in to me as soon as you can, we'll have stats, rankings, etc. posted as everything progresses.

March 15, 2007 at 9:35 PMOh my, UofT sucks at bball...and football...and hockey actually. But there's some quebec high school that has four players in the tourney - they're the ones with the french sounding names....oulet, chirac, the tea pot from beauty and the beast, etc. etc.
